PPD presentation

This assessment task requires you to re-genre your PPD presentation into a written report with recommendations. You are writing for a non-specialist audience. This task assesses the intended learning outcomes (ILOs) below: 1. Discuss the impact of the audience and purpose on choices of content, organisation and language. 3. Switch between genres for different audiences and purposes. 4. Use spoken and written language in a range of formats and styles appropriate for a university environment. Task Instructions 1. Review your presentation from the PPD unit and decide what genre of written report you are going to produce. 2. Consider the audience (non-specialist) and purpose (to inform and persuade) of your written report and their impact on the choices you make about: • Content • Structure and Organisation • Language Use and Style 3. You are expected to incorporate accurate citations and a reference list following guidance from the unit. 4. You should write a short reflection (150 – 200 words) on what you have learned from the re-purposing (genre-switching) process and how you will apply this learning as an aspiring clinician. In your reflection, you should consider the drafting, feedback and redrafting process. You can use a reflective framework of your choice. 5. The reflection is not included in the word count and should be included as an appendix after your Reference List. Word Limit: 1,500 words There is a leeway of 10% more or 10% less on word limits. So, the maximum you can write is 1650 words and the minimum is 1350 words. The word count on unit assessments includes the assignment title and any subheadings, all the main text including tables, figure captions and citations. The word count excludes the reference list, appendices, graphs and images, and declarations (e.g., cover sheet, assessment criteria sheet). Presentation Guidelines • All required documentation should be in the correct format (normally Microsoft Word) and be fully and accurately completed. • Cover sheet – include your student number and an exact word count. You must not use your name on any part of the assignment, including in the file name. • Font – suitable academic font size 11 or 12 point. • Alignment – justified main body text; title centred; references left aligned. • Line spacing – main body text double spaced; references single spaced (but with an extra space between each reference). • Alphabetical references – by surname of first author. • Informative title – this should be specific to your work; it should be centred, in bold and larger font. • Citation Style – Harvard reference style should be used and all in-text citations should include page numbers when available.
