Guidance for assignment preparation: Some illustrations to help

Hello All, Some repeating key issues arising from your assignments include:

1.You MUST use a baselined tracking Gantt, this will be critical in Assignment 02, (Still not sure; ask me in LAB 11)

2.Use of the Baseline tracking Gantt has allowed some students to demonstrate their planning corrections and early plan optimisation, excellent stuff!

3.Some of your Gantts, still include basic three errors of; ineffective or unaligned WBS; Preferential logic; Hanging (unlinked tasks) (Still not sure; ask me in LAB 11)

4.The use of the +++/- – convention helped demonstrate why some selections from your options were made.

5.Annotating (speech bubbles) your cash; Gantt and Risk dramatically improved communication of your points.  Everyone should do this.

6.The better reflection was informed by reading (from the reader).

7.The primary and first problem is the issue that leads to the proposal for the project, not how challenging the build itself is, that comes afterwards.

8.I think presentations work better (looking at your class’s) when the Gantt, Risk and Cash is kept with the option… that said…

9.Present options in comparison to the other options or first choice… even if it means repeating the model (this will be especially important in assgnmt 02), some students did this to great effect.

10.Income/Savings ideally need to be shown on the cash; this might also be the saving from the more expensive alternative, i.e. moving house.

11.Use of stakeholders, by listing their interests, gives you other perspectives and helps with: identifying requirements; ident risks; ident constraints; and generating other options …. Use this in Assgnmt 02!
