I’m seeking an academic expert (PHD preferred) to help with a Quantitative Finance academic project. At this stage, topic has to be selected. In the future, more work could be required for the full research. Read the instructions below carefully before submitting the bid. Choose a topic related to Quantitative Finance, and banking preferably, but don’t restrict yourself. The Structure of the proposal should include the following sections (About 1,500 words to 2,000 words maximum, excluding references): 1. Introduction This section should ideally address the following 4 items : (1) a paragraph on the importance/significance of your QF topic – i.e. why is your topic an important topic worth studying/investigating; (2) a paragraph which briefly describes the literature, and the contribution of your study to the previous academic literature; (3) a paragraph which defines the quantitative finance research objective, questions or hypotheses to be addressed; (4) a paragraph which briefly describes the data sources required to address the research problem/objective, test the hypothesis and answer the research question etc. 2. Literature review of your QF topic – you can divide this into subtopics which should FOCUS or RELATE to your research topic. • Search, read and summarise high quality academic journals dealing with your research topic • Provide in-text citations where appropriate to support what other researchers have found. • You can organize your literature into sub-topics related to your research theme. • Write about what other researchers have studied, what theories they have used, what methods they have used, what they have found what are their key arguments – to make a case for your study and identify gaps etc. • What key concepts and variables related to your own topic that other researchers have studied. • What sources or datasets, and methods they have used – This would be helpful to justify why you are using similar datasets, methods or theories in your own study later on in your methods and findings section. • similar projects in the field. 3. Research methodology • Clearly define your methodology or approach you are going to use to address your research objectives, answer your research questions or test your hypotheses. • Justify why you have chosen your research methodology and methods. • Describe the data collection process and data processing techniques used. • Discuss any assumptions or limitations of the chosen methodology. • Discuss how you are going to analyse your data – what statistical tests you would use, what software you would use etc. 4. Expected findings and conclusions • What you expect to find in your study to contribute to research gaps in the literature and to knowledge and understanding etc. 5. References • At least 15 high quality academic references using a consistent citation style (i.e., APA style) – the more the merrier (at least 25 academic references in the final project, similar to the academic papers you have read). …. Note that your research proposal is basically the first 3 sections of a research article or your research project. All articles have an introduction, literature review, methodology – you are expected to read and learn from these when writing your proposal and project. Use these articles as a template to structure your study, but do not plagiarise (It is okay to paraphrase in your own words and refer to the articles you have read – you can also use quotations and provide page numbers if you want to quote directly from the article). Search academic literature from KFUPM library; Saudi digital library and from Google Scholar, and structure your study similar to the studies you have read (Use these as a guide, as mentioned above). https://scholar.google.com/ https://library-web.kfupm.edu.sa/
