Abstract

Cloud computing is the delivery computing of shareable resources, which include servers, storage space, network e-infrastructure, databases, intelligence, and many more. This is a new model of internet applications. In this digital era, most organizations have shifted their focus to the use of cloud computing services such as platform as a service, computing as a service and last software as a service. With the development of this technology, there is the aspect of shared infrastructure which involves the use of virtualization technology within a big number of network resources where resources are shared, software development and deployment and resource pulling. Cloud data make use of distributed storage which can store and access data [7]. The main objective of cloud computing is to enable users to take advantage of these available technologies, without the requirement of having deep knowledge or expertise in any of these cloud computing technologies. The technology aims to reduce costs and enable users to focus on their main businesses rather than in-cumbered by IT hurdles.
1. Introduction
Cloud computing can be defined as the delivery of computing services such as servers, software, network infrastructure, storage infrastructure and many more over the internet [5]. This concept of cloud computing depends on the sharing of resources on a computer set- up. Cloud computing is one of the digital platforms that provide services to organizations. This technology provides a way of retrieving information particularly search engines and digital libraries.
Based on cloud computing, it offers three infrastructures, which are computing as a service, software as a service and platform as a service. To start with computing as a service, it offers computing resources ranging from applications to data centres over the internet based on pay for use basis [4]. The advantages of this form of infrastructure include resources being elastic, i.e. resources can scale down or up and it is easier to meet the demands of the users, this infrastructure only allows you to pay for what you use, the other benefit is that all the information technology resources you need are self-service, i.e. you use the resources that you want. The second infrastructure offered by cloud computing is a software as a service whereby all the applications and software that you need are provided and can be accessed either remotely or via the internet usually via the web browser Metzler [3]. Some of the benefits of this infrastructure provided by cloud computing include: it is easier to register and start using the business application which is highly innovative, any application or data can be accessed from any computer that is connected, there is no data loss because if a computer breaks- the data is still stored in the cloud. Lastly, the platform as a service infrastructure offers an environment that is a cloud-based with everything that is required to promote the development of cloud or web-based applications, hosting services etc.
2. Literature Review
Cloud computing concept in resource allocation can find its way in the literature. Studies allege that cloud computing offers new technology and platform for provisioning of IT services, which most organizations and businesses are adopting. Cloud computing has become a major topic of discussion, especially in recent research and literature. Further studies show that cloud computing is provisioned and discharged with minimal organization efforts with the additional support from the support of the interactions from the service providers. The technology has evolved as a paradigm that offers to people or group of users. Additionally, cloud computing in resource allocation presents a paradigm shift which provides an abstraction of the details.
In the context of cloud computing models, it can be deployed in three ways i.e. either through a private cloud or public cloud [8]. Private cloud is an infrastructure worked on exclusively for one organization whether it is managed by the third party, externally or internally within the business. If an organization opt to have a private cloud, then it needs momentous rendezvous in order to virtualize the environment within the business. This will call for an organization to re-evaluate choices of prevailing resources. As far as the public cloud model is concerned, services are solidified over the network, these services may be free. The last cloud computing model is known as the hybrid model, which is a combination or more clouds such as public, private or community [5]. The insurgency of cloud computing makes it viable to entrench this diverse economy into resource sharing flow of work, as internet services and application programming interfaces offered by Amazon and other organizations make it easier for the applications to be embedded within the workflow. Since the technology has unbolted boundaries in terms of data and sharing of the resources has become lesser.
Based on the cloud deployment models define how cloud services are made available to users. Such cloud deployment models include public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and community. Additionally, the cloud service model provides a web-based environment for developers to build cloud apps. This service also provides an environment where the organization can host such resources. Regarding the cloud deployment model, it provides specific configuration parameters, including accessibility and proprietorship of deployment storage space and Infrastructure.
Cloud computing provides the organizations with many benefits as compared to the traditional technological infrastructure, this is because it enables the organizations to set up virtual offices and then connect it to the business anywhere. Cost reduction is one of the benefits of setting up cloud computing in businesses, shifting to the cloud may decrease the cost of managing and maintaining information technology systems. Instead of purchasing expensive equipment and systems, it is better to reduce this cost by subscribing to cloud computing services which are very cheap to manage and maintain. Secondly, it is easier to scale up or scale down without any interference, cloud computing allows this flexibility to occur, hence instead of installing or upgrading the system, which would involve spending a lot of time and also money, it is good to shift your focus to cloud computing technology. Business continuity is another advantage of using cloud computing, this means that the business will not be left in a standstill as even if there is a natural disaster, power failure of any other failure, the resources will still be accessible from the cloud servers. Other benefits offered by this digital technology include collaboration efficiency whereby the organizations can share and communicate more easily, the flexibility of work practises [1].
In conclusion, cloud computing is an incipient resource sharing technology which is formed automatically from virtual resource pulling via the network as well as a huge number of virtual technologies. The fundamental idea of cloud computing is on-demand services; hence these services should be based on the charges in the short term. The platform of cloud resource definite pliability and when the user requires expansion, then the instances of virtual machines will require them to be moved to other nodes to enhance the quality of service for users [3]. The grasp of sharing- learning resources system is impartial and is used for demonstration purposes and can only be used only for deployment in the cloud platform.
3. Methodology
The proposed methodology will be quantitative research method will be helpful. In ensuring investigating the opportunities. However, this research will also depend largely on systematic literature review. Regarding the research strategy applicable in this paper, it will solely depend on the qualitative survey to obtain more data relating to the concept of cloud computing in the resource sharing system. The study population will be based on the application of 50 online surveys undertaken regarding the concept of cloud computing in resource sharing
The key variables to be measured include implementation of cloud computing in resource sharing, cloud computing models, and implementation of secure and fair resource sharing model in cloud computing.
For the data collection methods, this will involve employing of secondary sources such as peer review journals. In measuring the validity in this research, the use of expert judgment will be adopted, which will be valuable in measuring the content validity of the research. In this case, the researcher will engage a scholar to identify whether the research instrument adopted to meet the set objectives of the research. The instrument will also be presented to the supervisor for validity purposes. Data collection will be solely based on secondary sources and the use of an online survey to the users of cloud resources
