Assessment Objectives:
To demonstrate the ability about corporate business strategies, marketing management process, SWOT analysis, consumer behaviour, developing strategic marketing programme, e-marketing and marketing communications.

The discipline of marketing is universal, however that marketing practice will vary from country to country, for the simple reason that the countries and people of the world are different. These differences mean that marketing approach that has proven successful in one country will not necessarily succeed in another country. Customer preferences, competitors, channels of distribution and communication media may differ.

  • Student has to choose one company:

a). Examine THREE (3) major ways to segments business market to capture customers?
b). Discuss FOUR (4) reasons why many online companies went bust?   Provide examples and justifications.
c). Critically evaluate FOUR (4) best practices in service marketing.

Assignment on launching of new product in Malaysia market
 
A Malaysian owned company is launching a new product (your choice of new product) into Malaysia market within 6 months for Chinese New Year.
You are required to apply what you have learned from marketing management on the importance of developing intelligence and strategic insights about Malaysia market situations and consumers buying behavior for the launching of the new product.
The written assignment is approximately 2,000 words and the assignment should be outlined as follows:
1.Company profile

  1. a) Describe the company organizational structure, major key milestones of development and

achievement.

Key guidelines
 
1) Each assignment report should be presented with a cover page which should state out the title of the essay and outline the names, index numbers and email addresses of students who participated in the assignment. The mobile number of all the group members should be included.
2) Your assignment study should focus on how an organization attempted to address a business challenge, opportunity or problem. Hence, the business problem, opportunity or challenge should be clearly stated and discussed.
3) It is important to draw out some of the social, managerial, organizational, technological, legal or economic issues which contributed to either the success of the technology-enabled solution.

Presentation Guidelines

  • Your will create a 7-10 slide PowerPoint presentation summarizing your findings of your 2nd individual assignment. The headings from your report should be the same for your presentation and in the same order.
  • Each slide should have 3-5 bullet points maximum.
  • Graphics are fine to use, but keep to a minimum and use only to amplify a point. DO NOT use sound effects.
  • Be sure to include your charts and graphs in your presentation. Charts and graphs should be on its own slide with only a header at the top of the slide.
  • You will have a title slide and a reference slide and these are NOT included in the slide count.
  • Maximum duration is 10 minutes in length. Provide the link of your assignment in LMS

Coursework policies

  1. All coursework submitted must include the signed coversheet
  2. Students MUST keep a copy of all submitted work for reference purposes prior to the original being handed in and returned. This will provide proof that the work was completed, in the event that the work goes astray.
  3. All work must be submitted in the mode instructed by the Module Leader.
  4. Work submitted under the student’s ID must only be the work of that student. All information sources must be acknowledged, by providing a reference to the source both within the text (in-text citations) and in the form of a reference list at the end of the submission. Plagiarism is an academic misconduct and will be dealt with as set out in the rules and regulations of MAHSA University.
  5. You should provide your word count at the end of your report or essay. This should exclude your abstract, contents page, reference list and/or bibliography and appendices. You must not exceed the permitted word count by more than 10%. If your work is significantly shorter, you will probably have failed to provide the level of content required.
  6. Late submissions will be penalized by a reduction of 10% marks. The only exception to this is if you experience very serious circumstances which prevented you submitting your work on time, in which case you can apply for “extenuation”. For more information, you may refer to your lecturer.
